Input Device Interface

From the wikipedia

In computing, input/output, or I/O, refers to the communication between an information processing system (such as a computer), and the outside world, possibly a human, or another information processing system. Inputs are the signals or data received by the system, and output are the signals or data sent from it. The term can also be used as part of an action; to "perform I/O" is to perform an input or output operation. I/O devices are used by a person (or other system) to communicate with a computer. For instance, a keyboard or a mouse may be an input device for a computer, while monitors and printers are considered output devices for a computer. Devices for communication between computers, such as modems and network cards, typically serve for both input and output.

Note that the designation of a device as either input or output depends on the perspective. Mouse and keyboards take as input physical movement that the human user outputs and convert it into signals that a computer can understand. The output from these devices is input for the computer. Similarly, printers and monitors take as input signals that a computer outputs. They then convert these signals into representations that human users can see or read. For a human user the process of reading or seeing these representations is receiving input. These interactions between computers and humans is studied in a field called human- computer interaction.

In computer architecture, the combination of the CPU and main memory (i.e. memory that the CPU can read and write to directly, with individual instructions) is considered the brain of a computer, and from that point of view any transfer of information from or to that combination, for example to or from a disk drive, is considered I/O. The CPU and its supporting circuitry provide memory-mapped I/O that is used in low-level computer programming in the implementation of device drivers. An I/O algorithm is one designed to exploit locality and perform efficiently when data reside on secondary storage, such as a disk drive.

Interface
An I/O interface is required whenever the I/O device is driven by the processor. The interface must have necessary logic to interpret the device address generated by the processor. Handshaking should be implemented by the interface using appropriate commands (like BUSY, READY, and WAIT), and the processor can communicate with an I/O device through the interface. If different data formats are being exchanged, the interface must be able to convert serial data to parallel form and vice-versa. There must be provision for generating interrupts and the corresponding type numbers for further processing by the processor if required.

A computer that uses memory-mapped I/O accesses hardware by reading and writing to specific memory locations, using the same assembly language instructions that computer would normally use to access memory.

Higher-level implementation
Higher-level operating system and programming facilities employ separate, more abstract I/O concepts and primitives. For example, most operating systems provide application programs with the concept of files. The C and C++ programming languages, and operating systems in the Unix family, traditionally abstract files and devices as streams, which can be read or written, or sometimes both. The C standard library provides functions for manipulating streams for input and output.

In the context of the ALGOL 68 programming language, the input and output facilities are collectively referred to as transput. The ALGOL 68 transput library recognizes the following standard files/devices: stand in, stand out, stand errors and stand back.

An alternative to special primitive functions is the I/O monad, which permits programs to just describe I/O, and the actions are carried out outside the program. This is notable because the I/O functions would introduce side-effects to any programming language, but now purely functional programming is practical.

COLOR AND YOU

Each of us has to discover exactly how clothing can express our needs, desires, and how our clothing can communicate who we are and what we want.

THE IMPORTANCE OF COLOR WE WEAR

Colors have a demonstrable psychological effect. So, our automatic reaction colors is so strong. Military uniforms are intentionally colored to give the statement and impose authority. Colors are used in many ways to assert recognition because they are fairly easy to read and understand. Not all colors are good for any individual because of different skin color tones. The best way to find your personal skin color is to ask a friend who can be objective about your situation. The most flattering colors are sometimes the good colors for you. Often, you'll be surprised that the color you like best is also the best color for you.

 DIFFERENT APPARELS..DIFFERENT FABRICS...DIFFERENT COLOR

List of popular colors and how our emotions respond

It is important to understand that color has three properties. Hot, Warm and Cold. These properties often affect the meaning of colors unless their appearances have actually changed (ie hot violet, frosted brown)

Do I look good in green...hope so, since green is my favorite color.  How about blue?? hmm blue is not my type..look older in blue like aunty

Korean women beauty secrets

You cant be lazy if you want to be beautiful!

Many have envied the flawless and translucent skin of Korean women.Laneige’s International Trainer, Jin Lee (from Seoul) a skin care and make - up expert shared a couple of the beauty tips. She reveals how women in Korea take care of their skin.

Let’s get on to find out what she divulged shall we?

Your God given hands is a magical massage tool

The palms of your hands will cover your eyes perfectly. When your eyes are tired or stressed, just press the palms of your hands to your eye sockets, applying gentle pressure. That itself is a great massage for your eye area. Go ahead, try it!

Use outward & upwards strokes when washing your face

When washing your face, do not use vertical up-down strokes which will loosen your facial muscles and promote skin sag. Use outward and upward strokes instead. According to Jin Lee, this small change will make a huge difference.

Korean women are really serious about skin care

Basic 4 steps skin care routine after you cleanse your face.

Refiner —> Emulsion —> Essence —> Cream

This sounds more complicated than the tone & moisturize basic steps. Good glowing skin does not come by being lazy.

Prevent premature aging

You start aging at 18! It’s never too early to use anti-aging products and taking extra precautions under the sun – which is the number one cause for premature aging, is vital. Never go out under the hot sun without protection. Nowadays, sun protection is included in makeup and LaneĆge’s foundation comes with protection of SPF 22, PA+. Now what does SPF and PA all mean? Read on to find out…

Sun Protection explained

UV A and UV B
There are two types of UV rays which we need to protect ourselves from. UV B has a shorter wave length and causes burning (generates melanin which causes you to get darker & freckles to pop up).
UV A has a longer wave length and penetrates deep within the skin’s collagen and elastin layer and causes aging and fine lines.

When selecting products, here’s how to interpret the sun protection information:

SPF – sun protection factor against UV B

SPF 22 means you get to spend 22 times longer under the sun (than which you would without protection from UV B) before you start burning. Example: If you have fair skin and it takes you 20 minutes in the hot sun to get a sun burn. With SPF 22, you get to spend 440 minutes (22 x 20) in the sun before you start burning.

PA – protects against UV A

PA+ minimum UV A protection
PA++ average UV A protection
PA+++ very high UV A protection

Use whitening products & lots of it!

I used to think that whitening products are for those with fair skin who want to become even fairer! Like Snow White. Women in Korea use whitening products to combat skin pigmentation problems due to hormone imbalance especially during pregnancy. Pigmentation is prone to appear below the eyes, on the upper cheeks. To avoid developing huge freckle like marks on your face during pregnancy, use lots of whitening products.

Detailed Makeup Steps

Korean women apply 17 – 18 products every morning before stepping out of the house! Are you a Korean woman? Do you do this? Anyway, here is the make-up routine of a typical Korean woman who wants to portray having a flawless complexion. There are eleven steps!

  1. Preparation: Primer + make-up base (corrects your skin tone)
  2. Foundation
  3. Conceal imperfection (concealer)
  4. Setting: Set and fix foundation with powder or pact (The pact is now the Korean woman’s favourite touch-up item)
  5. Highlighting: Enhance vitality with make-up Brightener
  6. Eye brow
  7. Eye shadow
  8. Eyeliner
  9. Mascara
  10. Lip
  11. Blusher

Okay, there you have it. Do you have any tips or beauty secrets you want to share?

TRUE BEAUTY

What is true beauty?
True beauty comes from within. It's very hard to remember that the images we see every day are so edited and unreal and that so much work went into them... It's hard to remember that beautiful celebrities look the same as us without makeup, re-touching, and the teams of stylists, makeup artists etc. I never remember all of that. I just wish I was pretty. Also I think a lot of people also forget that and then demand their partners are up to standards. We are living in a world where looks and appearance is increasing in importance every year and it is SO damaging. We must remind people of real beauty and get people loving themselves again.

Do You Love Your Body?

Most people don’t. As a matter of fact, studies show that a majority of people hate their bodies. Stop for a moment and think about that. What do you think the result of that habitual hate is? Do you think it creates motivation? Do you think it’s a wake up call to change? Or do you think that it perpetuates feelings of depression and failure?

So, why do people hate their bodies? Usually, it’s because they don’t look the way they think they should. But the question that needs to be asked is, what should they look like?

What is the “perfect” weight? This is an important point because our ideals that we compare ourselves to are a big problem when it comes to our body image. We live in a culture that is constantly holding up ideals that are not real. We see a model on a magazine cover and think, “I should look like that.” But what we don’t see is how the model had 5 people doing hair, makeup, and clothes design. We don’t see the perfectly placed lighting and fans. We don’t see the photo editing that removes any “imperfections.”

Soon we find that we have no representations of people that are “normal” and beautiful. More and more actors and actress we see seem to have had plastic surgery and it becomes the acceptable norm. But it can’t be.

You need to love your own body, and you’re going to start right now because you deserve it. Let’s start simply by talking to yourself (in your head) and say the words “I love you, body.” It probably feels a little weird. That’s a natural response to doing something new.

Now, I want you to love all the things that work perfectly for you. If you’re reading this, then I’m going to assume that your heart is beating, your eyes are seeing, and your lungs are breathing, so start there. “I love you, heart and lungs, for keeping me alive all these years.” “I love you, eyes, for letting me read this incredible article.” And so on.

Now, back to your body. What about your legs? Never mind the shape of them for a moment, think about them differently and say, “I love you legs for giving me mobility.” How about your hands? Can you say something nice about them???

The purpose of this is to genuinely appreciate and love your body. It’s a way to build up self esteem and focus on what is truly important. You can go through other things you love about your body like hearing, smelling, tasting, being able to dance, sing, type, smile, etc.

Now, what about body weight and shape? You can love your body no matter what the scale says or what size clothes you wear, and at the same time you can also want to slim down. The biggest mistake people make in weight loss is that they try motivating themselves by beating themselves up. That will not work for permanent weight loss. If you hate your body there is a good chance that you will unconsciously keep the weight on. You need to begin by loving yourself and your body.

It’s easier to do this when you realize that your goal and size are a means to an end. The weight isn’t what’s important; it’s the feelings you’re going to experience at that weight that are important. Will you feel sexier, happier, more confident, healthier? Why do you want change your body? You’ll find that focusing on these feelings is one more tool you can use to motivate yourself. This is also important because you don’t just reach a certain weight where everything instantly changes. It’s a process. If your main motivation is to feel more confident, then begin thinking about ways to feel more confident now. Don’t wait.

Love and hate are very powerful emotions;
one is a force for creation and one is a force for destruction.
If you want to permanently create a new shape for your body, make sure you choose the force that can make it happen. It makes all the difference in the world.
